UC Celebrates the Successful Exchange Journey of German Student, Konrad Fechtelhoff

On June 4, 2025, the UC Integrated School Grade 11 HUMSS students, through its Global Engagements Office (GEO), bid farewell to Konrad Fechtelhoff, a German exchange student who spent ten months studying Grade 11 Humanities and Social Sciences (HUMSS) at the UC Integrated School under the AFS Intercultural Programs.

The send-off and information session, organized in collaboration with AFS Baguio, celebrated Konrad’s meaningful journey of cultural exchange and academic growth. The program opened with welcome remarks from Dr. Christian Pascual, GEO Director, followed by Konrad’s heartfelt sharing of his experiences studying at UC and living in Baguio City. Officers from AFS Baguio also introduced students to available international scholarship opportunities.

The event was graced by UC President Dr. Nancy Flores, Board of Trustees Chairman Mr. Ray Dean Salvosa, Mrs. Daity Salvosa, Mr. Ronaldo Pontanosa, and Ms. Quennie Rumbaoa from the CHED International Affairs Service. In his message, Mr. Salvosa inspired students to seize global opportunities and embrace challenges that lead to personal and academic growth. Closing remarks were delivered by Ms. Emilyn Estoesta, SHS Coordinator.

Konrad’s exchange journey stands as a testament to the transformative impact of international education—where learning extends beyond the classroom and friendships bridge cultural boundaries.

This initiative supports SDG 4: Quality Education by promoting inclusive and equitable learning experiences through international exchange programs. It also contributes to SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals, strengthening collaboration between UC, AFS, and international education networks in fostering global citizenship among students.
