GEO Conducts Two-Day SIAP Information Sessions for Hospitality and Tourism Students

On July 29 and 30, 2025, the Global Engagements Office (GEO) hosted a two-day Information Session on the Student Internship Abroad Program (SIAP) for graduating students of the College of Hospitality and Tourism Management (CHTM), in partnership with Dreamark TW, a Taiwan-based organization specializing in international internship placements.

The first day focused on Culinary and Food Service Management students, while the second day was dedicated to Hotel & Restaurant Administration and Tourism Management students. Each session opened with remarks from Dr. Christian T. Pascual, GEO Director, followed by a presentation from Mr. Samson Liu, CEO of Dreamark TW, who introduced the organization’s background, partner industries, and the internship placements available. He highlighted how these international opportunities provide valuable professional experience directly aligned with students’ fields of study and future careers.

An engaging open forum allowed students to ask questions about partner hotels, program benefits, and the application process. The sessions gave participants a clear understanding of international internship opportunities in Taiwan and strengthened UC’s partnership with Dreamark TW, paving the way for future collaborations in global experiential learning.

This initiative supports several Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), including SDG 4: Quality Education, by expanding access to global learning and skill-building opportunities; SDG 8: Decent Work and Economic Growth, by enhancing students’ employability and exposure to international hospitality and tourism industries; and SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals, by fostering sustainable collaboration between UC and Dreamark TW to facilitate international internships and training programs.
