On November 24, 2025, the University of the Cordilleras, through the Global Engagements Office (GEO), participated in the European Higher Education Fair (EHEF) 2025 Online Edition, hosting Session 7: Humanities and Social Sciences via Zoom. The event gathered attendees from various regions across the Philippines, including students, faculty, and academic representatives seeking accurate and accessible information on European study opportunities.
The session featured Ms. Dreidee Diño, Head of Student Recruitment and Admissions at Sigmund Freud Private University (SFU) in Austria, as the resource speaker. The session was moderated by Ms. Myrian Dale Aquino of the UC Global Engagements Office.
Ms. Dino presented an overview of SFU’s academic offerings in psychology, psychotherapy, and the broader social sciences, emphasizing the university’s clinical and research-centered approach to mental health education. She also outlined scholarship options, financial support mechanisms, admission procedures, and student life in Austria, giving participants a comprehensive look at what to expect when pursuing studies in Europe. The session concluded with a Q&A segment, where attendees raised questions about requirements, tuition fees, and the application process.
The activity successfully met its objectives by providing clear and relevant information about European higher education institutions, encouraging Filipino students to consider international study pathways, and strengthening UC’s participation in global academic platforms such as EHEF. The event also enhanced UC’s visibility in international engagements and reinforced its commitment to promoting global learning opportunities.
This initiative supports several United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), including SDG 4: Quality Education, by expanding access to international academic information and learning opportunities, and SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals, by strengthening UC’s collaborations with European universities and contributing to shared global educational objectives.
