On November 27, 2025, the Global Engagements Office (GEO) hosted the UGrad on Air Information Session, an initiative designed to introduce students to the Global Undergraduate Exchange Program (Global UGrad) and encourage them to explore international opportunities for academic and cultural enrichment. The activity formed part of UC’s broader efforts to expand global engagement and increase participation in international mobility programs.
Conducted in an engaging talk show format, the session featured Mr. Virgilio Roi Adaptar and Mr. Mark James Canilang, both alumni of the Global Undergraduate Exchange Program. The relaxed format allowed for open conversation and made it easier for participants to learn directly from the experiences of former UGrad scholars. The session was facilitated by Ms. Myrian Dale Aquino of the Global Engagements Office.
Throughout the discussion, the speakers shared the benefits of joining internationalization programs, including gaining global perspectives, developing leadership skills, and broadening cultural understanding. They also offered practical advice on building a strong and competitive application for exchange programs, drawing from their personal journeys as UGrad scholars in the United States. Their stories provided students with a clearer picture of life as exchange participants and the opportunities that await those who pursue global pathways.
Toward the end of the event, several students continued to engage with speaker Mr. Virgilio Adaptar for additional insights and guidance, demonstrating growing student interest in global learning opportunities. The session successfully raised awareness about the Global UGrad program and encouraged participants to consider applying for international academic experiences.
This initiative supports the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, particularly SDG 4: Quality Education, by promoting equitable access to international learning; and SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals, by strengthening UC’s engagement with international exchange networks and alumni communities. It also reinforces UC’s commitment to empowering students through global exposure and intercultural learning.
