GEO Hosts Seminar on Science Learning with Videos and AI Tools

On August 15, 2025, the Global Engagements Office (GEO) facilitated a seminar titled “Educational Transformation in Science Learning through Videos and AI Tools”, designed to equip science faculty members with innovative teaching strategies using video integration and artificial intelligence (AI).

The program opened with remarks from Director Dionisio Tandingan Jr., followed by an introduction from Ms. Myrian Dale Aquino of GEO. The main lecture was delivered by Dr. Elmer-Rico Mojica, Program Director of Forensic Science at Pace University, who demonstrated how pop culture references can enhance science learning and how AI tools can streamline instructional tasks. An interactive open forum allowed participants to exchange experiences and share best practices for integrating AI into classroom instruction.

The session concluded with the awarding of a certificate of appreciation to Dr. Mojica. The program provided practical strategies for modernizing science instruction and encouraged faculty to explore further technology-driven innovations in teaching.

This initiative contributes to several Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), including SDG 4: Quality Education, by enhancing teaching methodologies and improving learning outcomes through technology; SDG 9: Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure, by promoting digital innovation and AI integration in education; and SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals, by fostering collaboration with international experts such as Dr. Mojica to strengthen global knowledge exchange and professional development.
