INTENSE Program Information Session Opens International Opportunities for UC Students

On February 4, 2026, the University of the Cordilleras hosted an INTENSE Program Information Session in collaboration with Kun Shan University, Taiwan at the UC Auditorium. The session aimed to introduce students nearing graduation to international academic opportunities in STEM and related fields, covering application procedures, program features, and cultural experiences abroad.

The event was attended by students from the College of Hospitality and Tourism Management (CHTM), College of Engineering (COE), and College of Information Technology and Computer Science (CITCS). It was facilitated by Dr. Christian Pascual, GEO Director, with opening remarks from Prof. Kuio-Chun Chui, Dean of the Office of International Affairs of Kun Shan University, highlighting the importance of international collaboration and student mobility. The main presentation was delivered by Ms. Joy Fojas of INTACT Base-Manila, who provided detailed information on the INTENSE Program, including STEM pathways at Kun Shan University and hospitality/tourism pathways through other partner institutions in the consortium.

Students also gained personal insights from Dr. Natividad Concepcion of CITCS, who shared her experiences from the Taiwan Mandarin Education and Cultural Immersion Workshop in December 2025, giving practical perspectives on academic engagement, cultural immersion, and life in Taiwan.

The session successfully equipped students with knowledge of international study and training opportunities, encouraged participation in academic exchange programs, and strengthened UC’s partnership with Kun Shan University and the INTENSE consortium. This initiative advances SDG 4: Quality Education by providing access to global learning, and SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals by fostering international collaboration and student mobility.
