Strengthening the bridge between academic excellence and public service, Dr. Christian Pascual, Director of the Global Engagements Office (GEO) and Program Chair of the Forensic Science Department at the University of the Cordilleras (UC), served as a resource speaker during the Fulbright Roadshow held last February 10, 2026.
Hosted at the Civil Service Commission (CSC) Regional Office-CAR, the event aimed to provide prospective applicants from the government sector with a comprehensive overview of the prestigious Fulbright scholarship programs. Dr. Pascual, a distinguished Fulbright Alumnus who completed his Master of Science in Forensic Science at Emporia State University in Kansas from 2017 to 2019, shared his personal and professional journey to encourage civil servants to pursue advanced international studies.
Joining him in the session were fellow Fulbright alumni Ms. Anne Cabanilla and Mr. Jet Tadeo. Together, the panel of speakers provided firsthand accounts of the application process, the academic rigors of studying in the United States, and the transformative impact the experience has had on their current roles in the Philippines. Dr. Pascual highlighted how his international training has directly informed his leadership in UC’s Forensic Science Department and his mission to internationalize the university through GEO.
By sharing these success stories, the roadshow highlighted the value of global educational exchanges in developing the country’s human capital, particularly within the administrative sector of the Cordillera region.
This engagement reflects UC’s commitment to global development by supporting SDG 4: Quality Education through the promotion of world-class postgraduate opportunities for professionals. The activity also embodies SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals by demonstrating how academic leaders and international exchange programs collaborate to strengthen regional institutions.
