UC Joins INTACT Base in Launching New Hub for Talent Development

The University of the Cordilleras (UC) reaffirmed its commitment to international academic collaboration during the official opening of the INTACT Base (Taiwan International Talent Circulation Base)-Polytechnic University of the Philippines (PUP) Manila Hub on March 18, 2026. Representing the university was Dr. Natividad Concepcion of the College of Information Technology and Computer Science (CITCS).

UC is a key member of a consortium with INTACT Base, an initiative dedicated to fostering talent development and advancing Chinese language education across the Philippines. The launch of the PUP Manila Hub serves as a central point for this collaboration, providing a space where member institutions can work together to enhance the global competitiveness of Filipino students and faculty.

Dr. Concepcion’s participation in the hub opening follows her involvement in the Taiwan Mandarin Education and Cultural Immersion Workshop held in December 2025. Also hosted by INTACT Base, the workshop provided foundational insights into integrating Mandarin education with cultural exchange, a vital component in the consortium’s goal of producing well-rounded, globally-ready professionals.

By participating in the hub’s inauguration, UC continues to broaden its reach through the Global Engagements Office (GEO), ensuring that its faculty and students remain at the forefront of international talent development programs.

This partnership reflects UC’s proactive approach to global development through its alignment with several United Nations goals. By integrating specialized language education and talent development into the academic framework, the consortium directly supports Goal 4: Quality Education. The initiative also contributes to Goal 8: Decent Work and Economic Growth by equipping students and professionals with the linguistic and technical skills necessary to thrive in the international labor market. Finally, the project embodies Goal 17: Partnerships for the Goals, showcasing how consortia between universities and international organizations like INTACT Base can drive regional educational innovation.
