The University of the Cordilleras (UC), through the Global Engagements Office (GEO), successfully conducted the Fulbright Distinguished Awards in Teaching Program for International Teachers (Fulbright DAI) Application Writeshop last April 8, 2026.
The event served as a strategic platform for UC-Integrated School educators to refine their applications for the prestigious Fulbright DAI program. The workshop featured two distinguished alumni—Ms. Anne Cabanilla and Mr. Jefrey Honrado—who shared their firsthand experiences and expertise. The session opened with an “Alumni Spotlight,” where the mentors discussed the realities of the Fulbright journey, emphasizing the importance of a clear and impactful purpose.
During the technical portion of the afternoon, the facilitators led a deep dive into the core components of the application. Ms. Anne provided a masterclass on structuring the Inquiry Project, teaching participants how to identify a specific educational problem and propose a research-based solution. Following this, Mr. Jefrey guided the group through the Personal Narrative, focusing on how to craft a professional story that highlights individual leadership and local impact. The session ended with an open dialogue where participants actively engaged with the speakers, posing critical questions regarding application timelines and technical requirements.
This activity directly aligns with the university’s commitment to the UN Sustainable Development Goals, specifically SDG 4 (Quality Education) and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals). By providing faculty with opportunities for international professional development, UC ensures that its educators bring global best practices back to the classroom. Furthermore, strengthening ties with the Fulbright Program and its alumni network fosters long-term international cooperation and academic exchange, advancing the university’s mission to create globally competitive professionals.
